ACAT is a non-denominational, faith-based organisation committed to improving the livelihoods of the poor on a sustainable basis where poverty, resource degradation, malnutrition, unemployment, and HIV and AIDS are widespread.

ACAT is committed to improving, on a sustainable basis, the livelihoods of the rural poor in KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. ACAT’s self-help programmes, of sustainable agriculture, entrepreneurial development and partnerships, enable participants to produce their own food, eat a balanced diet, create their own jobs and generate income for their families.

ACAT’s fund-raising is a critical aspect to enable it to educate, train, and mentor the previously disadvantaged rural people in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It assists us in creating sustainable self-employment, income generation, job creation, poverty alleviation and entrepreneurship. Financial donations also help us develop programmes to educate rural people on correct nutrition, HIV and Aids, and life skills.

Our main focus areas include:

  • increased food production,
  • improved health and nutrition,
  • improved income levels,
  • the starting of enterprises,
  • increased knowledge, skills, capacity, and education,
  • addressing the HIV and AIDS pandemic,
  • social mobilization,
  • strengthening civil society,
  • caring for and sustaining the environment,
  • spiritual upliftment and transformation,
  • how to implement sustainable development programmes.
